Facilitator - Jeethu K. Joseph, PhD

Dr. Jeethu Joseph is a Licensed Psychologist currently employed at Parkland Hospital, Dallas, TX. She is currently in a primary care clinic working with both pediatric and adult clients. She is transitioning into her new role as a Specialized Mental Health Psychologist with the Woman and Infant Speciality Hospital (WISH) and Sleep Medicine clinic. With this new role, her work will be focused on maternal mental health, and development for WISH, and CBT-I for sleep. Dr. Joseph is a Dallas native and graduated with her PhD from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2022. She completed her doctoral fellowship at Baylor Scott & White, Temple, TX in the Integrated Primary Care track while also working in outpatient mental health (assessments, therapy, transplant/bariatric evaluations) and inpatient consult liaison part-time. Her dissertation work examined cognitive functioning in depression and the intersectionality of race/ethnicity and medical comorbidities. Her particular clinical interests lie in health disparities and equity among minority populations, health behavior change, identity exploration, increased self-worthiness, health and wellness, and increased access to care for minority and underserved/underrepresented populations.
Dr. Joseph is currently engaged in supervising two doctoral trainees, serves as Secretary for the Dallas Psychological Association, recently completed the Texas Psychological Association's Emerging Leaders program, and is working on initiating more DEI considerations and training into the Behavioral health team at Parkland. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her puppy nephews, watching TV, traveling, henna, and spending time with her loved ones!
